Our Story
Kayak Chang
Kayak Chang was established in 2009 by Andrew Hill, a former owner. We are the leading sea kayak company in Thailand and the surrounding area. Over the years, we have built a strong reputation for providing exceptional experiences and top-notch equipment to our customers.
S.E.A. Kayaking, also known as Kayak Chang in Koh Chang, Trat, Thailand, has undergone a significant change in ownership in 2022. Andy and Jummy, the founders, have handed over the reins to Amy and Tu. This transition marks a new chapter for our company, as we are now a 100% locally owned and operated business in Koh Chang, Trat, Thailand.
Our dedication to providing our customers with the best equipment and experience possible remains unchanged. However, with the new ownership, we aim to elevate the level of service to new heights. With their unique Thai hospitality and deep insights into the area and people, Amy and Tu will bring a fresh and dynamic perspective to Kayak Chang.

Kayak Chang is situated in Koh Chang Marine National Park at the entrance of Magic Resort, Koh Chang. The park is a protected marine reserve and area of outstanding natural beauty with 52 islands, the largest of which is Koh Chang. Around 70% of the 650Km2 park is ocean and many of the small islands and deserted outcrops are uninhabited so kayaking is one of the best ways to explore the magnificent sea cliffs, secluded beaches, clear waters and stunning reefs.

Boats
Our fleet of full composite Tiderace Xcape expedition boats come in a range of sizes so we can fit you with the correct size boat that is stable yet easy to manoeuvre, allowing you to develop your skills as a kayaker. Paddles
Quality paddles are essential if you want to get the most out of a quality boat and selecting the right paddle is very personal and important for avoiding aches and pains. Our set of Werner paddles come with a variety of blades, including Shuna, Ikelos, Cyprus, and Corryvrecken. Buoyancy Aids
Last season we upgraded our Buoyancy Aids and purchased a set of Palm BAs. Palm is one of the UK’s leading watersport manufacturers and their BAs are the ideal choice for a touring adventure, with lots of comfy adjustable features for greater flexibility and fit.
Safety
Our Guides
As a minimum, all our guides have British Canoe Sea Kayak Award qualifications, a current First Aid Certificate and a Criminal Records Bureau check. All have extensive experience coaching paddle sport and in other outdoor activities. All our staff speak English, one Russian, and all have experience in coaching non-English speaking participants.
Group Size
To maximize safety and enjoyment we limit the group size to 6 kayakers per guide. This allows us to concentrate on improving your paddling skills and gives you a more personal experience.
Risk Assessments
We have fully risk assessed our activities to ensure we have reduced every risk as much as possible. Please contact us for detailed risk assessment information.
Insurance
Our guided expeditions and lessons are insured (excluding rental). Feel free to contact us if you require a copy of our insurance policy. Our insurance policy only covers you whilst on our activities. You will still need personal holiday insurance for the rest of your trip. If you require more cover then we recommend you take out personal travel insurance that covers sea kayaking.
