Koh Chang : 4 Days Expedition

Bang Bao is a beach on the south coast of Koh Chang. It is the starting point for our multi-day expeditions. From the beach, we have rewarded a panoramic view of the islands that await us. Once we have packed our kayaks and orientated ourselves we set out to the east for Wai Chaek Beach where is located on the south coast of Koh Chang and the only undeveloped beach on the island. At Wai Chaek, we have the further opportunity to venture inland in our kayaks on ‘sweet water’. After the pre-packed lunch, we will continue to heading East along the South coast to Koh Phrao Nok and Koh Prao Nai. It is a good time to explore Salak Phet Bay where you experience the fisherman’s village, mangroves, and beautiful nature of this area. A/C, Wifi, Hot Water. We will continue to the long beach and Koh Chang Memorial then stop at Koh Ngam where is a small island, 400 meters off the southeast of Koh Chang. It was privately owned by National Park. Having eaten pre-packed lunch and had a swim at Koh Ngam, we head directly to the west with short crossing Koh Lao Ya Nai and Koh Lao Ya Nok. We continue our journey to Koh Wai. The crossing to Koh Wai is a 3 km crossing and is done in only a short time. Our destination on Koh Wai is the aptly named Paradise Beach which serves up the best coffee and fantastic snorkeling. From the beach, we have rewarded a panoramic view of the islands that await us which is one of the best snorkeling spots in the whole park. Remark: The accommodation in Koh Wai is very limited. There is the possibility to get shared toilet options or a ruined Bangalow. The electricity is also limited not the whole night. If we get this option, we will compensate by upgrading the quality of accommodation on other days. Food & Accommodation: Accommodation is in single rooms – For the couple, the room will be upgraded. Day 2: Guesthouse, Fan ✔ Breakfast ✔ Lunch ✔ Dinner

This is a wonderful day that encompasses rock hopping, snorkeling, and coffee. We will head to the East coast for snorkeling then heading due West along the South coast of Koh Wai we are presented with many opportunities to develop our rock hopping skills. . Having eaten pre-packed lunch at the private small beach on the South coast then continued round the West coast. With 3 km crossing to Koh Klum, we will break for coffee and have a swim. Koh Klum is a 9 km circumnavigation (optional). After the break, open water crossing to Bang Bao of 7km. This is a challenging start but nonetheless, it is very achievable. The west coast of Koh Chang has some of the best rock formations in the National Park. With 5Km of inaccessible coastline ahead, our journey up the West coast offers us ample opportunity to express ourselves. At last, the excitement ends as we make our way around Bailan Bay headland, one last flurry of interest presents itself as there are several shallow caves that have extensive bat populations. Lunch on the restaurant at Lonely Beach. The remaining 4km back to Magic Resort offers us a time to reflect on our journey and revel in our achievement.
